On 15 August, in the Market Square in Nowy Sącz, as part of the Małopolska Karpaty Offer Festival, we will present “To Meet Prospero” – a spectacular open-air production performed by the Voskresinnia Theatre from Lviv.
Shakespeare’s The Tempest, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Romeo and Juliet and Hamlet became the inspiration for this large-scale outdoor spectacle, where words give way to images, music, movement and emotion.
Guided by the magical figure of Prospero, the audience enters a world of towering stilt-walkers, fantastic theatrical machines, shimmering lights, fire, spectacular pyrotechnics and evocative, multi-layered music. All these elements come together to create a poetic theatrical universe that appeals to the senses, emotions and imagination.
Not a single word is spoken in “To Meet Prospero”. Rather than imposing a single interpretation, the performance opens up a space for imagination, allowing each spectator to discover their own meanings, images and associations. It is theatre that can be “read” through image, movement, rhythm, light and emotion.
