JOB at the Castle in Cieszyn (Pl)

This Saturday, 4 October 2025, as part of the International Festival Without Borders, we will present an outdoor performance based on Karol Wojtyła’s ‘Job’.

Six monumental structures covered with wrapping paper will be erected in the castle square in Cieszyn. When darkness falls and the sound of a storm spreads, the structures will come to life, and characters on stilts in beggars’ robes will enter the stage. This unusual procession, like a Greek tragedy choir, will accompany Job, the hero of the performance.
The Woskresinnia Theatre based this performance on Karol Wojtyła’s ‘Job’, originally presented in a stage version with singing stylised as Orthodox church music. In the open-air version, the intimate drama has been transformed into a monumental spectacle in which theatre, image, music and song combine in a poignant mystery.
Jarosław Fedoryszyn’s interpretation of ‘Job’ emphasises the timelessness of the Old Testament story – the story of a man who stands before God when He ‘gives and takes away’.
This performance is a series of vivid images immersed in music and song that move and engage the audience, creating a unique theatrical experience. Job is a grand spectacle about the relationship between man and God, showing the drama of faith, doubt and hope.Witamy w WordPressie. To jest twój pierwszy wpis.
